"With over 30 years of experience in the profession of interior design and with architects and
building contractors, Steve Hefner is known best for integrating interior decorative architectural detailing
with interior design and working as a team with the client, architect
and builder. With his strong knowledge in all aspects of design,
architecture and construction, Hefner offers clients a "complete
package" of interior design including space planning, lighting, wall
and crown moldings, ceiling details, landscaping and overall
interior/exterior detailing.
In 1993, Hefner founded Designworks, an interior design
firm located at 250 Royal Court in Delray Beach, Florida. Hefner's
strong understanding of architectural styles provides the builder/developer
with an 'edge' in the overall construction project. Specializing in
either redesigning existing properties or enhancing the ones that fall
short of consumers expectations, Hefner always promises to deliver a
complete package for clients.
Born and raised in Miami, FL., The Florida State University
interior design graduate has worked on projects throughout South
Florida, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Hawaii and Europe. As a
licensed interior designer, Hefner is a Past-President of the South Florida Chapter of the American Society of Interior
Designers (ASID) is an Allied member of the
American Institute of Architects (AIA). Hefner was honored with the ASID Florida South Chapter Medalist Award. The interior design community has
recognized his commitment to quality and uniqueness of diverse
projects.
Hefner's current projects include working with several of South Florida’s luxury home developers and most projects are set to build from
the 'ground up'. His independent work for owners of a 163-acre home in
Pennyslvania and a 20-acre property at Jupiter Farms are anticipated
to be seen throughout the national interior design community. Hefner's
Aventura projects include numerous homes throughout Turnberry,
Williams Island and The Point. Some of his most creative office
interior work can be seen at the office of the well known Aventura
plastic surgeon, Dr. Michael Storch.
Before creating Designworks and becoming one of South Florida's most
well known interior design companies, Hefner's
experience includes running a design operation inside a large Boca
Raton interior design firm as well as his efforts in numerous building
projects.
